A Ferret in Asgard (For Loki)

There are small sharp eyes on the Bifrost Bridge,
There's a back that can arch like a bow,
There are small quick paws that obey no laws
And a nose poked where'er it can go.
It climbs up Heimdall's shoulder,
And it tests out the make of his horn,
And the small sharp eyes that can never cry
See where housefolk on Midgard mourn. 

There are small sharp teeth in the apple trees.
Idun yells, then just throws up her hands.
The Valkyrior run out from the door
Of Valhalla, then laugh where they stand.
Bragi brings him in, and sings to him
And the small head takes its rest --
But he'll stray next day, to pass time away
Till it's time for the ones he loves best.
